Feeling Thankful

While I was out this morning letting the chickens out of their house, I looked around and started feeling so thankful for what I have in my yard and my life. My little Peaceful Valley Lane home reaps many rewards. I am thankful for my wonderful orchard that gives me apples and pears. We have so many pears and apples this year, Jim picked pears yesterday afternoon and I shared some with the buck that was waiting for a bite. Always plenty to share with the wildlife around here. I am thankful for the black berries that I have picked many times for a pie and cobblers and the ones I picked this morning to put in my Vanilla Yogurt for breakfast. We have such a big crop of grapes this year and every afternoon I share a bunch with the chickens and wild turkeys while sitting outside after Jim gets home. They love them and it is fun to see them chase after the ones you throw to them. Our apples crop has really been good this year. Jim has a box of apples in our cold room ready to make Apple Butter. Jim's apple butter is to die for.... I am so thankful for everything around me and the wonderful fruit I get to enjoy and the blessings of having wildlife to enjoy. It was a beautiful morning, very crisp and cool and I am thankful for Jim, he always makes a fire in the morning so I can be warm when I get up.....Yes.....many things to be thankful for this beautiful morning....
